Restylane Refyne is a type of lip filler that uses hyaluronic acid. This material is a sugar that is found in every living thing and keeps the body hydrated. Our cosmetic professionals at Juvly use the Restylane type of hyaluronic acid to soften the look of wrinkles and lines and add volume to places our clients believe are unattractively dry or thin. This makes it an excellent lip filler, even for clients whose lips are already quite plump. It was approved by the FDA in late 2016.
This type of Restylane Refyne uses a new type technology to process its hyaluronic acid. Called XpresHAn, it allows the hyaluronic acid to move freely with the client’s face, which gives the area of treatment a far more natural look than what was possible with older versions of the dermal filler.
Before the treatment, our client has a consultation with one of our dermatologists to discuss what the client wants from the lip filler. The dermatologist takes the client’s medical history and determines if the client is a good candidate for the procedure. A good candidate for Refyne is a person who is over 21, in fairly good health, doesn’t smoke and is not allergic to Restylane or lidocaine. The dermatologist will discuss the lip fillers cost and any potential side effects and complications of the treatment. They show the client lip fillers before and after photos.
During the procedure, the client sits in a chair. The lips are washed then swabbed with alcohol. Topical anesthesia might be used to numb the lips, though the formula contains lidocaine. The dermatologist injects Restylane Refyne into specific places in the client’s lips that need a bit of plumping out with a 30G needle. The entire procedure doesn’t take more than a half an hour. and some clients get the procedure done on their lunch hour. However, a client should take it easy for a couple of days after the treatment because there is some swelling and bruising afterwards. This can be eased by ice packs and over-the-counter painkillers.
Because the client’s lips are bound to be tender for a few days, they shouldn’t apply lipstick or lip gloss for at least a half a day, and stay out of the sun and areas of high heat and humidity. They should avoid strenuous activity for a couple of days as well. All bruising, swelling and tenderness should be gone after two weeks.
The client should be able to see results after about a week or two, and the improvements last as long as a year. Clients are impressed when they see their own lip fillers before and after photos and most would highly recommend treatment to a friend. The client can return to Juvly for maintenance Refyne treatments to prolong their new, fuller lips.
Lip fillers cost about $599. Clients who are interested in adding volume to their lips with this new type of hyaluronic acid should contact us at Juvly for a consultation. Our number is 614.686.3627.
