Since my last DIY post was so popular, I figured I'd do another one that is similar but for sensitive skin. This is another one of my favorite at home recipes. This is a recipe for a cleanser that is good for sensitive or acne-prone skin. It's gentle enough not to irritate your skin, while powerful enough to make a noticeable difference! Hope you all enjoy this :)
3 tablespoons of organic extra virgin coconut oil (removes make up, moisturized with anti-aging properties) 1 teaspoon of raw honey (soothes and heals skin, purges bacteria) 1 teaspoon of baking soda (gently exfoliates, draws out toxins)
DIRECTIONS TO MAKE:
Step 1: Put coconut oil in a small bowl and stir with a spoon. It it is really hard then warm spoon under hot water, dry spoon, and stir oil with warm spoon until creamy (not liquid).
Step 2: Add the teaspoon of honey and stir in well.
Step 3: Add the teaspoon of baking soda and stir in well.
Step 4: Spoon into clean container with a lid.
Step 5: Store at room temperature. No worries if it hardens. It will melt when it is applied to your skin from body heat.
DIRECTIONS TO USE:
Step 1: Use a small spatula (found in the make-up section at most drug stores) or tiny spoon to scoop out a small amount (pea size).
Step 2: Apply to face and neck, and move fingers in circles around the face to exfoliate.
Step 3: Let set on face for a minute to draw out toxins.
Step 4: Rinse and remove with warm water and a wash cloth.
Step 5: There may be some oil residue left, but it absorbs quickly, and goes away as soon as you pat dry with clean dry towel.
Step 6: You may not need a moisturizer at all after this, but if you do, then just a super tiny amount of plain coconut oil works well.
